Every day, tens of thousands of public health professionals across the country work to protect the health and well-being of Americans. These individuals work for a diverse group of federal, tribal, state and local public health organizations. They are on the frontlines in the battle against bioterrorism, infectious diseases, malnutrition and a variety of other public health challenges.

The PHS Commissioned Officers Foundation for the Advancement of Public Health was established to support the efforts of these dedicated individuals by providing an array of programs and services including education and research efforts and an annual conference.
