You can play a key role in continuing the important work of the foundation in four important ways.
- Make a tax-deductible contribution. Donations can be made at several levels including:
o Leadership Society $10,000
o President’s Society $5,000
o Founder’s Society $2,500
o Platinum $1,000
o Gold $500
o Silver $250
o Bronze $100
- Create an endowment establishing a permanent public health legacy. Endowments are never touched. Only the interest and dividend income are used for particular programs or activities. In this way you can provide support for critical foundation activities today and tomorrow. Gifts may be designated for a specific program or activity or given to the general fund.
- Provide a bequest. Please check with your estate planner or attorney about how best to designate the foundation as a beneficiary.
- Make a donation in memory of a loved one or in honor of a special occasion. All such donations will be acknowledged on a plaque at the COA headquarters office.
The foundation is a 501(c)3 organization. All donations to the foundation are fully tax-deductible as charitable donations for income tax purposes. Donations to the foundation are recognized at the annual Public Health Symposium, in the Commissioned Officers Association newsletter (Frontline) and in the most recent annual report.
